Agricultural Farmland

It can be easily demonstrated that investing in Agronomy will generate strong returns for our clients. The demand for agriculture is on a constant rise for several reasons:

  • Demand: The rate of population growth is currently at around 2.5 mouths per second (150 per minute!). Current estimations forecast world population to double to 12 billion by 2054. In the past 30 years, the demand for wheat has increase at a rate of 2.5% per year.
With urbanisation increasing in developing nations, the demand for cattle also increases. This further increases the demand for cattle feed (grain).
Biofuels are the best alternative to fossil fuels and are gaining some serious momentum in popularity.
  • Supply: In stark contrast, the supply of wheat has been constantly declining over the past 30 years, by 7.5% per year!
Global warming has also affected the ability for some major production areas to be eradicated around the world.

So with supply being outstripped by demand, the value of agricultural crops is set to continually rise.
